Gujarat Titans (GT) have received a massive boost ahead of the IPL 2026 final against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), as star pacer Mohammed Siraj is fit and available for the summit clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
There were concerns around Siraj’s fitness after he suffered an injury scare during Gujarat Titans’ Qualifier 2 clash against Rajasthan Royals on May 29 in New Chandigarh. This left GT fans worried, as Siraj has been one of their key players this season.
When Mohammed Siraj gave injury scare to Gujarat Titans
Mohammed Siraj suffered an injury scare during the powerplay when he appeared to hurt his right bowling shoulder while delivering the second ball of the fifth over. The pacer was immediately seen in discomfort, and the team physio attended to him multiple times during the Qualifier 2 match.

At one stage, it looked like Siraj might not be able to continue. He even walked off the field briefly for treatment. However, the Indian fast bowler showed great determination and returned to complete both his bowling spell and fielding duties for the Gujarat Titans.

Meanwhile, the latest fitness update has now ended all doubts, with Mohammed Siraj available for selection ahead of the title clash against RCB in Ahmedabad on Sunday. A well-known TOI journalist revealed that “Mohammed Siraj is fit and available” for the IPL 2026 Final.
His presence is a huge relief for Gujarat Titans because he has been one of their biggest match-winners throughout IPL 2026. Siraj has formed one of the most dangerous new-ball bowling partnerships with Kagiso Rabada in the tournament.
Siraj’s domination in IPL 2026
The 31-year-old pacer has enjoyed a dream season with the ball. In 16 matches, Siraj has taken 18 wickets at an excellent economy rate of 7.53. Out of those 18 wickets, the fiery paceman has taken 13 wickets in the powerplay, which is the third-highest powerplay wicket tally of this season.

Apart from taking wickets, Siraj has also built pressure with his remarkable control. He has bowled 162 dot balls this season, which is the second-highest by any bowler in IPL 2026, behind only his teammate Kagiso Rabada, who bowled 165 dot balls out of 346 total deliveries.
Ravichandran Ashwin points to only one obstacle between RCB and IPL glory
Meanwhile, former Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin believes that Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are the clear favorites to win the IPL 2026 final against Gujarat Titans. He said that the RCB are in a strong position to lift the trophy unless they make mistakes themselves.
Ashwin said on Jio Hotstar, “The fact that GT are playing at their home ground and that they’ve dominated there and made it a fortress is something that’s really going to give them that extra fillip going into the final. For RCB, it doesn’t matter whether they bat or bowl first; it is their final to lose. They are going in as the favorites. Whatever they do, they must not regress or play any less attacking cricket than they have throughout the season.”
He added, “GT’s home ground and their familiarity with those conditions are the only last pieces of the puzzle standing between RCB and a second title.”
