A.R. Ameen, son of music composer A.R. Rahman, escaped with minor injuries after the Porsche he was driving collided with a Rapido Wagon-R near the Olympia Tech Park signal in Guindy in the early hours of Monday (August 10, 2026).
The accident occurred around 3.30 a.m. when Ameen was driving towards Guindy with a friend. The police said the Wagon-R entered the main road from a side road and collided with the Porsche.
Ameen and his friend were taken to Kauvery Hospital and discharged after treatment. A passenger in the Wagon-R, who was injured in the accident, was admitted to the Kalaignar Centenary Super Speciality Hospital and later discharged.
The Adyar Traffic Investigation Wing seized both vehicles and registered a case. Further investigation is under way.
