CSK, KKR, and DC locked in three-way race to acquire Hardik Pandya for IPL 2027: Report

The Indian Premier League (IPL) transfer window is all set for the biggest surprise involving the star Indian all-rounder and Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Hardik Pandya.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) shocked everyone last season by signing Sanju Samson from Rajasthan Royals in a big trade. And now the five-time IPL champions are all set to pull off another banger.

Three IPL teams in the race to acquire Hardik Pandya

As reported by a Revsportz journalist, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and Delhi Capitals (DC) are all in the race to sign Hardik Pandya after he reportedly informed the Mumbai Indians (MI) about his plans to leave the franchise right after the IPL 2026.

If the reports are true, the CSK, KKR, and DC could fight hard to bring Pandya into their squad despite his fitness concerns. The Indian all-rounder recently missed the Ireland, England, and Zimbabwe tour.

Hardik Pandya to CSK almost done

Another report suggests that Delhi Capitals tried to sign the star all-rounder, but Hardik Pandya is not interested in their offer, keeping Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders in the race. Amid this, Pravanjan Mullick backs Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for future India captaincy.

However, it is being said that the trade between Mumbai and Chennai is almost done, and only the official announcement is left. Mumbai Indians had first asked CSK for Shivam Dube along with either Ayush Mhatre or Dewald Brevis in return for Hardik. But CSK did not agree to that deal.

Later, CSK reportedly came back with a new offer by adding Anshul Kamboj along with Shivam Dube, and sources claim that the five-time IPL champions have accepted the proposal. It is also being said that MS Dhoni is reportedly looking after the trade talks himself.

If everything goes well, Hardik Pandya will play for Chennai Super Kings from IPL 2027, while Shivam Dube and Anshul Kamboj will join Mumbai Indians before the mega auction later this year.

CSK, DC and SRH begin IPL 2027 preparations with early fitness camps

Meanwhile, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Delhi Capitals (DC), and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have reportedly become the first teams to organize fitness camps for their players. The three franchises have begun working on their plans to stay ahead of the 2027 season.

As reported by Revsportz, Delhi Capitals will start their fitness camp in early August. Sunrisers Hyderabad have scheduled their camp for August 6 and 7, while Chennai Super Kings have taken a different approach by asking players to attend the camp in three-day batches based on their convenience.

The camps will not be just the fitness tests and conditioning sessions, as the team management and coaching staff will closely watch every player to check their physical condition, workload, and overall readiness for the upcoming season. These sessions will also help the franchises identify the players they want to build their core squad around for IPL 2027.
