During the match, Suryakumar Yadav’s poor form continued as he was dismissed for a golden duck in the match. He will be under huge pressure with the form he has now.

This was the first game played at this venue as RCB was scheduled to play two games at this stadium in the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. Suryakumar Yadav, who led the charge as Hardik Pandya did not feature in the match due to an injury in the last game, did not feature in this game as well.

Suryakumar Yadav’s poor form continues

Suryakumar Yadav was back for another golden duck. This was his second in the tournament. The team India captain has been struggling with form post the T20 World Cup 2026. He has scored 195 runs this season, with an average of 17.73, with just one fifty in 11 games in the IPL, this is huge pressure for the retention of his place.

Suryakumar Yadav was picked by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who has been on a roll this season, for the defending champions. He has crumbled MI’s top order, picking the wickets of Ryan Rickelton, Rohit Sharma, and SKY. He was on a hat-trick after the wicket of Mumbai’s stand-in captain. RCB are all over MI in the match.

No, we are pretty confident- SKY during the toss

While at the toss SKY said, “No, we are pretty confident. I think we are happy to bat first. Big ground, black soil wicket, I think runs on board, always good pressure for the other team. (Any changes) Not really, we are going with the same team.”

Suryakumar Yadav further added, “(MI haven’t strung two wins together. What is going to be important to do that?) I think it’s all history now what has happened before. We are really looking forward to this game, big game, Super Sunday. Trying to put our best foot forward and have good entertainment for Raipur.”

“(Discussions on their bowling) I think we’ve always had a good chat around that. I think this tournament, this IPL has been a little difficult and a little harsh on the bowlers. But that’s the beauty of T20 cricket. The way you come back, I think that shows a lot of character. So we keep trying to improve and get better each day.”
