After extending the deadline for the Gruha Jyothi door-to-door survey to October 31, Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (Bescom) has asked consumers who could not be covered during the ongoing survey, particularly those whose houses were found locked or vacant, to visit their nearest Bescom sub-division office and submit the required documents.
On Thursday, Bescom said in a release that the move was aimed at ensuring that all eligible beneficiaries are covered under the scheme and that none are left out of the survey.
During the survey, Bescom identified 16.09 lakh locked houses and 28,519 vacant houses where no one was available to furnish the documents required for the survey.
The release also stated that this is the final, one-time opportunity for beneficiaries to verify their documents, and that the Energy Department will not undertake the exercise again.
