The 59th match of IPL 2026 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium witnessed high-octane drama as the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) hosted the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a crucial encounter on May 15, 2026. After LSG skipper Rishabh Pant won the toss and elected to field, cricket fans were treated to an electrifying contest. While the match carried heavy playoff implications, it was LSG’s young pacer Akash Singh who stole the social media spotlight with a unique, note-themed cheat sheet celebration after dismantling Chennai’s top order.

As Gaikwad departed for 13, Akash pulled out a mysterious celebratory chit from his pocket, gesturing to the crowd and setting social media abuzz.

The left-arm pacer was far from finished. In his very next over (5.3 overs), Akash struck another massive blow by dismissing the dangerous Sanju Samson. Executing a back-of-a-length delivery on the pads, Akash induced a half-hearted whip from Samson, who picked out Mukul Choudhary at deep square leg perfectly. Samson departed for a 20-ball 20, leaving CSK reeling at 36 for 2.

Following the dismissal, Akash brought out the tactical note once again, pointing significantly to his head and then to the paper, indicating that he had researched the batters thoroughly and executed his plans to the letter. CSK puts up a challenging total against LSG in a crucial IPL 2026 game

Despite the early damage inflicted by Akash, which included removing Urvil Patel for 6 to leave CSK struggling at 52 for 3, the Chennai Super Kings mounted a phenomenal mid-innings recovery to post a challenging total of 187 for 5 on the board.

The rescue act was spearheaded by a brilliant knock from Kartik Sharma, who anchored the innings with a fiery 71 off just 42 deliveries, a knock studded with 6 fours and 5 massive sixes. Kartik found excellent support in Dewald Brevis, who contributed a quickfire 25 off 16 balls, helping the visitors cross the 100-run mark in the 13th over. After Kartik was dismissed by Shahbaz Ahmed, the finishing touches were provided by the explosive Shivam Dube, who smashed an unbeaten 32 off just 16 balls at a strike rate of 200.00. Prashant Veer chipped in with a vital 13* off 10 balls at the death, ensuring CSK collected 60 runs from the final 5 overs to give their bowlers a highly competitive score to defend.
