Rajasthan Royals have looked solid this IPL season, but skipper Riyan Parag isn’t winning over Kris Srikkanth. The 1983 World Cup winner hasn’t been shy about his criticism—he’s called out Parag before, and this time, he really let him have it. Srikkanth blasted Parag for being all flash and no substance, especially after Parag kept Ravindra Jadeja out of the attack against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Jadeja’s a key player for the Royals, and yet, somehow, he didn’t bowl a single over on Monday. Parag blamed Hyderabad’s lineup full of left-handers, but Srikkanth didn’t buy it. He called the whole explanation “absurd” and just piled on. According to Srikkanth, “He’s only there for style. As usual, he did nothing with the bat and then talked at the presentation. He skips bowling Jadeja because a lefty’s batting? Since when can’t a left-arm spinner bowl to a left-hander? It’s just nonsense.”
Even though the Royals have snagged four wins in five games, Srikkanth isn’t impressed with their Indian bowlers. He pointed out how their rough day—especially Parag not giving the ball to Jadeja—ended up costing them the match against SRH. He didn’t sugarcoat his warning: “If they don’t fix this, a thrashing is waiting.”
And honestly, those numbers are ugly. In just 11 overs, Tushar Deshpande, Sandeep Sharma, and Ravi Bishnoi leaked 142 runs. Srikkanth didn’t mince words—“That’s where the match was lost. Sandeep was hammered everywhere, Deshpande was a failure. RR needs to rethink their bowling fast. If they keep bowling like this, it’s not going to end well.”
