In match no.49 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) hosted the Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad. During the match, Heinrich Klaasen was given a chance as his catch was dropped by Shashank Singh, yet again. The PBKS cricketer did not have the best of outings in the field.
The incident happened during the 8.4th over, as Yuzvendra Chahal was bowling to Klaasen, and the South Africa batter miscued, and Shashank Singh, who was fielding at the backward square-leg, dropped an easy catch. Shashank Singh, who had dropped catches in earlier games as well, will be furious with himself for the way he has fielded this season.
It seems the ball is flying everywhere- Ricky Ponting
After the catch dropped, Ricky Ponting was there at the first innings, talking to the commentators, he said, “Poor Shashank Singh, it seems the ball is flying everywhere he’s going.” It has been a tough night for the PBKS side as they have dropped three easy chances and missed one stumping.
