Shubman Gill, the Gujarat Titans skipper, claimed that he would be more than happy to return to the Indian T20I squad after a promising season in the IPL and would aim to keep getting better with his game.

Shubman Gill played a massive role in the Gujarat Titans’ massive success in the IPL. The Titans under his leadership have made it to the final of the 2026 season, and Gill himself helped the cause with a magnificent hundred in Qualifier 2 against RR.

Shubman Gill is keen to re-enter the Indian T20I side

After having amassed 700+ runs in this season of the IPL, Shubman Gill has proved why he is often regarded as the Prince of Indian cricket and is deemed one of the most essential players in the recent generations of cricket in India.

Gill has not only added runs for his team this season but has also made readjustments to his batting technique, which has helped his strike rate to increase from 143.14 in the last season to a massive 159.20 this season.

On his interest in being picked for the Indian side, Shubman Gill said, “I mean, I’d be happy to play if I get picked for the T20 team, but honestly, I want to keep working on my game. It doesn’t matter what format it is.

“I don’t really get the burden of expectations.” : Gill feels return to Ahmedabad for the Final will act to their advantage

The Gujarat Titans return to Ahmedabad for the final match of the season. This is a massive advantage for the home side, the Gujarat Titans, as they have had a promising record at their home, especially against the Royal Challengers.

Shubman Gill feels that their return to the Ahmedabad ground would be advantageous, and he assured that he never feels burdened due to expectations of the home ground.

“Honestly, I don’t really get the burden of expectations. Obviously there are advantages, that’s how I see it. There’s familiarity when we play there; we know the wicket, we know the ground, so we know what kind of cricket we need to play there to be able to win, so in that context, yes, I see it as an advantage because there’s a little bit of familiarity,” said Gill.

Rajat Patidar focusses on IPL final

Unlike the Gujarat Titans skipper, who has shown keen interest in returning to the Indian team, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain, Rajat Patidar, has shown a completely different mindset.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s skipper has claimed that he is not currently concerned about his selection into the Indian team. Rajat Patidar’s current form should help him return to the Indian team and make his white ball return for India.

However, Patidar is highly focused on the final match of the season and is aiming at the second title in the IPL after winning the first-ever title with RCB in 2025.
