In the match no.62 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, travelled from the north of India to the central part as the Delhi Capitals (DC) hosted the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Arun Jaitely Stadium, New Delhi. This was the reverse fixture, as DC did a double over the Men in Pink and kept their slightest hope for the playoffs alive.
Axar Patel won the toss and opted to field first; they made one change with Tripurana Vijay making his debut. On the other hand, the Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag was back, and Ravindra Jadeja was out due to workload management, and Ravi Singh also made his debut for the Men in Pink.
IPL 2026: DC vs RR Match Result:
After being asked to bat first, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi went berserk from the first over; however, his opening partner, Yashasvi Jaiswal, was back early for 12 runs. But Vaibhav kept on scoring, and he was supported by Dhruv Jurel as they scored 75/1 in the power play. The former was back after playing a superb innings of 46 off 16 deliveries.
Dhruv Jurel and Captain Riyan Parag then stitched a partnership of 72 runs for the third wicket. The former scored 53 runs, and Parag played a fiery knock of 51 runs off 26 balls. However, the middle order and lower middle order could not score many of the runs as they could only score 193/8 in their 20 overs.
Coming to chase, KL Rahul and Abishek Porel were off to a breezy start. The former got lucky as his catch was dropped by Yash Raj Punja, but after that, the two DC openers gave no chance, and scored the runs at a rapid pace as they posted 72 runs inside the power play.
Porel brought up his fifty in 29 deliveries and was dismissed in the very next ball on the score of 51 runs, as the partnership was broken on the score of 105 runs. Rahul brought up his fifty in 34 balls. He was dismissed on the score of 56 runs as there was some drama in the middle overs.
Axar Patel came to the finishing job despite wickets in the middle overs; the DC skipper took his team over the line, winning the match by 5 wickets, with Ashutosh Sharma providing the finish, scoring 18 runs off 5 balls.
