In the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, match no. 64 was between the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. The Royals do a double over Rishabh Pant’s side and keep their playoff hopes alive with a win by 7 wickets.
Yashasvi Jaiswal was the stand-in captain for the Royals, as their regular captain Riyan Parag could not feature in the game due to a hamstring injury. The Men in Pink made three changes, bringing in Lhuan-dre-Pretorius, Sushant Mishra, and Sandeep Sharma. On the other hand, Rishabh Pant brought in Mohsin Khan in place of Mohammed Shami, and Ayush Badoni came in for Aiden Markram.
IPL 2026: RR vs LSG Match Result:
After being out to bat first, the fiery opening pair of Josh Inglis and Mitchell Marsh went berserk from the very first over. The two kept firing from both ends and scored 83/0 runs inside the power play. They stitched another 100-run partnership with Inglis scoring his fifty in 23 deliveries, but the partnership of 109 runs with the former was out on 60 runs.
The Marsh and Nicholas Pooran kept the runs flowing; the former brought up his fifty in 25 balls. Pooran, who looked in good touch, could not convert his start to a big score and was back scoring 16 runs. The Aussie skipper and LSG captain then formed a partnership of 64 runs, and the latter was back in the final over.
Pant scored 35 runs, and Marsh, who was batting at 90 in the final over, failed to score his hundred yet again and was run out on the score of 96 runs. LSG finished off with the score of 220/5 in their 20 overs.
Coming out to chase, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal were off to a flying start. The stand-in captain was the aggressor as both of them stitched 71 runs in the power play, but the latter was soon dismissed on the score of 43 runs. Then Sooryavanshi took charge and scored a fifty in just 23 deliveries.
The Southpaw and Jurel stitched a century run partnership and took the game away from the Super Giants, but Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s flairy innings came to an end on 93 runs as he missed the hundred in the match, Mohsin Khan picking the wicket. Dhruv Jurel scored a fine fifty in 37 deliveries and took his team home.
