Hyderabad has consolidated its position as one of the world’s fastest-growing destinations for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), with more than 197 multinational companies choosing Telangana to establish or expand their GCC operations since the Congress government assumed office under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
The momentum has been particularly strong in 2026, with 43 new GCCs already announced or operational in the first six months of the year. This follows the establishment of over 70 GCCs in 2024 and 84 centres in 2025, putting Hyderabad on course to cross the 100-mark in 2026.
According to the NASSCOM GCC Landscape Report 2026, Hyderabad has emerged as the country’s leading destination for new Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) GCCs, attracting more than 50% of all new BFSI Global Capability Centres established in India.
Unlike conventional IT firms that provide outsourced software services to clients, GCCs are wholly owned technology and innovation centres established by multinational corporations to support their global operations, research, product development and business functions.
Officials attribute Hyderabad’s growing appeal to its world-class infrastructure, availability of skilled talent, comparatively lower operational costs and proactive government policies. Officials expect the investment momentum to continue during the second half of 2026.
Apart from attracting new investments, existing GCCs have also expanded their footprint by increasing office space and employee strength. Significant expansion has been recorded across life sciences, BFSI, semiconductor design, engineering research, digital services and product development, officials claim.
Among the marquee investments during the first half of 2026 was L’Oréal, which established India’s first GCC and the company’s first-ever Beauty Tech Hub in Hyderabad following discussions with Mr. Revanth Reddy during the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos.
Other notable expansions include T-Mobile, Novartis, Voya Financial, Astera Labs and BluePace, while companies such as Zurich Insurance Group, Roche Diagnostics, ABB, BASF, Regeneron, Silicon Labs, Nestlé, Reckitt, Uber, Warner Bros. Discovery, American Airlines, InvoiceCloud, Omnicom and Maximus either launched, expanded or announced operations in Hyderabad.
Investment activity has increasingly shifted towards high-value sectors such as Artificial Intelligence, generative AI, life sciences, semiconductors, engineering research and development, cybersecurity, cloud computing, data analytics and global business services.
Among the prominent companies establishing or expanding operations are Alter Domus, MetLife, Bristol Myers Squibb, DXC Technology, Cadence Design Systems, Marriott, Vanguard, Heineken, Deutsche Börse, McDonald’s, American Airlines, T-Mobile, Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble, Mastercard, BASF, Netflix, UBS, Charles Schwab, Zurich Insurance Group and L’Oréal.
