Triumph Knights Mumbai North East have retained India’s T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav, along with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) opener Ayush Mhatre, for the upcoming T20 Mumbai League season. Sobo Mumbai Falcons have secured Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain Shreyas Iyer for the fourth edition of the league.
T20 Mumbai League Season 4 will begin on June 2 and will also feature a newly introduced women’s division. Before the start of the upcoming tournament, franchises will take part in the player auction on May 2. They will fill their remaining squad spots after finalizing three mandatory retentions each.
Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer Among Retentions in T20 Mumbai League 2026
Triumph Knights Mumbai North East, led by head coach Atul Ranade, have retained Suryansh Shedge alongside Suryakumar Yadav and Ayush Mhatre. Shedge is currently part of the Punjab Kings in the ongoing IPL. He will add all-round value to the squad for the new season.
Sobo Mumbai Falcons have shown faith in Shreyas Iyer by retaining him along with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) opener Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Harsh Aghav. The franchise has built a solid core with a mix of experienced players and young talent heading into the fourth edition.
Andheri Arcs have retained Shivam Dube, a two-time T20 World Cup winner, along with Pragesh Kanpillewar and fast bowler Deepak Shetty. Meanwhile, Ayush Mhatre is set to make his debut after missing the 2025 season due to India Under-19 duties before their England tour.
Aakash Tigers Retain Sarfaraz Khan While Defending Champions Release Tushar Deshpande
Aakash Tigers have retained Chennai Super Kings batter Sarfaraz Khan, left-arm spinner Shams Mulani, and opener Jay Bista. Meanwhile, defending champions Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals have released fast bowler Tushar Deshpande, who is currently playing for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in IPL 2026.
Despite releasing Deshpande, Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals have retained captain Siddhesh Lad along with pacers Rohan Raje and Irfan Umair. Lad led the team to their maiden title last season, defeating Sobo Mumbai Falcons by five wickets at the Wankhede Stadium.
Thane Eagles Strikers have retained captain Shardul Thakur, along with Atharva Ankolekar and Sairaj Patil. North Mumbai Panthers have kept India Under-19 World Cup-winning wicketkeeper Abhigyan Kundu and all-rounder Tanush Kotian to strengthen their squad.
Sairaj Patil Won Player of the Tournament in the 2025 Season
Sairaj Patil claimed the Player of the Tournament award in the 2025 T20 Mumbai League season. The Thane Eagles Strikers all-rounder delivered consistent performances, scoring 233 runs and taking seven wickets during the campaign.
During the 2025 season, Chinmay Sutar finished as the top run-scorer with 271 runs, winning the Orange Cap. Meanwhile, Shashank Attarde led the bowling charts with 11 wickets, securing the Purple Cap.
These consistent performances played a key role in their teams’ playoff runs after a six-year gap. With retentions completed and the player auction approaching, the league is set to deliver another strong season in Mumbai cricket.
