England pacer Jamie Overton delivered a memorable moment with the ball during the ODI tri-series encounter against Pakistan at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on October 20. The right-arm pacer had been bowling disciplined lines and lengths before producing a delivery that proved too difficult for the Pakistan batter to handle.
The dismissal came at a crucial stage of Pakistan’s innings, bringing an end to an entertaining knock that had helped the hosts recover after losing wickets in the middle overs. Hasan Nawaz had provided valuable momentum with his aggressive approach, putting pressure on the England bowlers.
Jamie Overton castles Hasan Nawaz with a brilliant yorker
Overton dismissed Nawaz with an excellent yorker that targeted the stumps. The Pakistan batter attempted to make room by moving across the crease and opening up the off side, but the bowler anticipated the move and delivered a full ball at the base of the stumps.
Nawaz tried to dig the delivery out and play it square of the wicket, but he was late on the shot. The ball went underneath his bat and crashed into the middle stump, ending his innings at 79 off 74 deliveries. His knock included five fours and four sixes.

Arafat Minhas stars as Pakistan defeat England
Nawaz’s innings helped Pakistan recover from a difficult position before Arafat Minhas added further impetus with 59 off 58 balls. The pair shared a crucial fifth-wicket partnership of 78 runs, while Minhas later combined with Faheem Ashraf for a 72-run stand off just 49 deliveries. Pakistan eventually posted 302/9 in 49.5 overs, with Sonny Baker claiming three wickets for England. Tom Banton led England’s chase with 57, while Ben Duckett also provided a useful contribution at the top of the order.
However, Minhas turned the contest in Pakistan’s favour with the ball, claiming career-best figures of 6/40. He removed several key batters, including England captain Harry Brook, as the visitors lost wickets at regular intervals. England were eventually bowled out for 215, handing Pakistan an 87-run victory and their second consecutive win in the tri-series.
