Customs officials at the Calicut International Airport seized gold compound worth over ₹1 crore from a passenger who arrived from Ras Al-Khaimah on an Air Arabia flight on Wednesday.
The passenger, a native of Ponnani, allegedly tried to smuggle the gold by hiding packets inside the diaper of his eight-month-old baby. Customs officials found the packets during a detailed inspection after turning suspicious.
